LINN — Lonnie L. Irvin, 33, was arrested on Thursday on a Boone County warrant for two counts of sexual assault (sodomy).
Deputies were dispatched to a local motel in Linn for a well-being check involving Irvin, who told them he had just learned of the warrant for his arrest and was not in a good state of mind.
Sheriff Mike Bonham noted that deputies asked Irvin directly if he wanted to hurt himself or others or commit suicide, and he said he did not.
Irvin was visibly distraught; however, when asked, he denied wanting to harm himself. Based on his replies, deputies did not transport him to a medical facility.
Instead, Irvin was arrested and transported to the Osage County Jail without incident.
Irvin was extradited to Boone County, where he is being held on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
