Summer in Missouri is one of the best times of the year. From Fourth of July celebrations to watching baseball or attending family cookouts, there is always something to do around the Third District. In Washington, My Republican colleagues and I have remained committed to passing appropriations bills that provide funding for our military and defense and we will continue to push ahead through the tail of July.

In addition to Appropriations season, the House Financial Services Committee, the Small Business Committee, and the House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party have remained focused on addressing issues that impact our local communities. Each committee offers a unique opportunity to voice the need for policy changes to help our businesses, constituents, and the overall well being of the United States.

Just this week, the House Financial Services Committee held the Annual Testimony of the Secretary of the Treasury on the State of the International Financial System, addressing sanctions on human rights abuses by the CCP. In May, the Financial Services Committee examined allegations against FDIC Chairman Martin Gruenberg based on the Cleary Gottlieb report, which outlined a toxic work culture, harassment, and abuse (we are still waiting for him to step down). Additionally, the House Committee on Small Business has continued to hold Small Business Administrator Isabel Guzman accountable for her electioneering practices in Michigan.

These are just a few of the significant actions we have taken recently in Washington. I say all this to reiterate that my Republican colleagues and I are steadfast in our commitment to holding government officials and agencies accountable for their actions. By doing so, we strive to foster a transparent, responsible, and ethical government that serves the best interests of the people.

In the ever-changing climate of Congress and the constant back-and-forth between the aisles, the priorities of those in the Third District have remained at the forefront of our minds.

We are committed to ensuring that the voices and needs of our community are heard and addressed. Thank you for your continued support and engagement as we work together to build a stronger and more prosperous future for Missouri and our great nation.
