The Gerald Board of Aldermen, in their June 4 meeting, agreed to hear a proposal recommended to them by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
The commission had recommended approving a rezoning request on property at 611 W. Lincoln where the Friendly Assembly of God church was once located.
Thomas Pracht of Union, on behalf of RTP Properties, LLC petitioned the commission to change the zoning of the property from B1 (business) to R2 (multi-family dwelling). Pracht explained in his petition that he intends to convert the church building into a duplex.
The Board of Aldermen scheduled a public hearing on the matter for Thursday, July 11, at 6:15.
