Relay for Life of Osage/Maries Counties hosted its annual pork burger dinner fundraiser last Friday at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Westphalia. The evening included a survivor’s walk and a luminary in memory of those lost to cancer. New features of this year’s event included live music by George Arbuckle and a table from the Osage Ambulance District to help people build first aid kits. The fundraiser brought the organization approximately $9,400 to add to its $43,200 for the fundraising year, which runs from September through August. Relay for Life of Osage/Maries Counties Chair Nicki Bax commended volunteers (above) and community supporters and said the team is always accepting new participants. “We absolutely love doing it because it’s just for those survivors and caregivers,” she said. Those interested in joining the team may visit the Relay for Life of Osage/Maries Counties Facebook page or contact Bax.
