Reven Niaga Newbound, 30, of Owensville,  passed away unexpectedly Sept. 1, 2024, on the Gasconade River.

He was born Sept. 28, 1993, to Loren and Sherri (Woolley) Newbound in Jefferson City.

He was united in marriage to Samanatha Dittman Sept. 5, 2020, at Bland.

Reven was a 2012 graduate of Belle High School and a member of Grace City Church in Owensville. He worked as a foreman for Kolb Grading, where he was highly respected by his peers and team members. Outside of work, he was known for his adventurous spirit and passion for life. He loved boating, demolition derbies, camping, all kinds of music, and anything that had to do with the river. In his younger years, he enjoyed dirt track racing, tractors, learning to fix cars, and could build anything out of Legos. He had a unique gift for humor, always ready with a witty movie line or joke to make others laugh. He starred in one season of the reality show American Wreckers, where his witty one-liners were the highlight of the show.

Reven was preceded in death by beloved daughter, Avery; parents, Loren and Sherri; and special family member, John Mahaney.

He leaves behind wife, Samantha; sons, Cooper and Talton; daughters, Addysan and Kiah; sisters, Brandy Crider, Danica Crider, and Tonia Hazel; brother, Patrick Medlock; and grandma, Virginia Woolley.

Reven will be remembered for his love of adventure, his infectious laughter, and the joy he brought to everyone around him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Sept. 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Owensville High School, followed by funeral services at 1 p.m. officiated by Rick Hardy and Rev. Kevin Sullivan.

Graveside services will take place at Howard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family’s choice to support his family during this time.
