Robert E. “Bob” Wright, 71, of Owensville, passed away Friday, June 28, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Washington.
He was born April 21, 1945, a son to the late Robert and Betty (Bock) Wright in Madison, Ill.
He was an independent truck driver for over 20 years before retiring.
Bob enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and WWE wrestling on TV. He had a great laugh, a fun sense of humor, and enjoyed sitting at the liars table at the Colorado Café and visiting with friends. Above all, Bob loved spending time with his grandsons and family.
He was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Betty; daughter, Kristen Birmingham; son, Eric Birmingham; and several siblings.
He is survived by daughters, Crystal Opfer of Joplin and Tammy Jenkins of Warrensburg; grandchildren, Caleb, Chase, Sean, Landon and Alex; brother, Floyd Wright of High Hill; and special buddy, Greyson; as well as many extended family members and friends.
Memorial services will take place at a later date and will be announced by Sassmann’s Chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of Sassmann’s Chapel, Belle.
