Sydney Ray Watson, 84, of Owensville, passed away Monday, June 3, 2024, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 20, 1939, to Thomas and Ola Mae (Jackson) Watson in Jasper County, Miss.
He was united in marriage to Darlena Jett, March 17, 1990, at New Hope Methodist Church in Owensville.
Sydney served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the Owensville Gun Club, the Owensville Moose Lodge and spent many years with the volunteer fire department. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by parents, Thomas and Ola; wife, Darlena; sisters, Bobby and Chris; and step-daughters, Lisa Rodden and Debby Hall.
He is survived by daughters, Debby Sipes of St. Louis, Theresa Hayes of Logansport, Ind., and Bobbi Fetsch of St. Louis; brother, Lavon Watson of Flint, Mich.; step-son, Kevin Brown of Belle and eight grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
His body was cremated and no services are planned at this time.
