Area riders compete in Belle Fair motocross races

Compete well on their home course.

That was the goal for a handful of riders from Belle during stop two of the Shades of Gray FairCross series last Wednesday night capping night one of the 76th Annual Belle Fair.

Placing fifth in the heat race, Belle’s Shane Baumgartner ended up taking sixth place in the main race of the 250 Novice division.

Two Belle riders were in the 85cc Junior 7-11 division.

Maddix Devine placed second in both the heat and main races while Buck Strunk placed third in both the heat and main races.

During the 50cc 7-8 division, Belle’s Callea Douglas won her heat race before placing second to St. Clair’s Grayson Higgins in the main race.

As the lone rider in the 65cc Junior 7-9 division, Belle’s Oliver Douglas placed first in both the heat and main races.

Belle’s Tanner Devine competed in the School Boy 11-16 division placing third in the heat race before settling for fourth place in the main race.

Also competing in the 50cc Open, Callea Douglas took second in the heat race before winding up third in the main race.

Making the short trek west from Owensville, Lane Adkison won the heat race in the 50cc Beginner non-points division before placing second to Lebanon’s Rowan Cornelison in the main race.

65cc Open action had a pair of Belle riders in that division.

William Locklin placed second in both the heat and main races while Oliver Douglas took third in both the heat and main races.

Ellie Gray competed in the Girls 15-and-under 65cc-125cc placing second in both the heat and main races to Alton’s Nevaeh Davis.

Adding to his second-place finish in the 85cc Junior 7-11 division, Maddix Devine placed third in both the heat and main races of the 85 Open division.

450 Beginner division action saw Belle’s Logan Schroeder placed second in the heat race before catching a face full of dirt during the main race as he settled for fourth place.

Improving on his earlier showing in the 65cc Open Division, Locklin won both the heat and main races of the Pit Bike AM 110CC down division while Owensville’s Henlie Adkison placed second in both the heat and main races.

Belle’s Natalie Douglas won both the heat and main races as the lone entrant of the ATV 90 Division.

William Stroup was Belle’s final racer in the 250 Beginner division placing second in both the heat and main races to Newburg’s Keegan Brookshire.
