Dale Ray Hempelmann, 75, Columbia, passed away Monday, Aug. 15, 2022 surrounded by his family.
He was born May 30, 1947, to Walter and Ella (Rasmussen) Hempelmann in Washington.
He was united in marriage to Bonnie McElvain, July 8, 1967, in Aurora, Colo.
Dale was a 1965 graduate of Gasconade R-II in Owensville. He joined the U.S. Army and served in Thailand until his honorable discharge in 1968. He was the parts manager for John Deere, janitor for the Owensville School District and raised cattle.
He was preceded in death by parents Walter and Ella; daughter Dalene Cady; and son Kirk Hempelmann.
Dale is survived by wife of 55 years, Bonnie; daughter Lynette Waite and husband Jeff of Columbia; brother Don Hempelmann and wife Debbie of Owensville; sisters Jane Ross and husband Glen of Warrenton, and Terry Froelker and husband Jim of Gerald; and seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Saturday, Aug. 20, at Gottenstroeter Funeral Home, Owensville, with Rev. Micah Ernst officiating.
