At last Thursday’s city meeting, City Administrator Nick Grube asked for approval of a $50,000 water meter replacement project.
Grube explained that at least 118 meters currently in service are so old that replacement parts are no longer available for the remote meter reader used by the city.
The requested $50,000 would cover replacement readers and the necessary software. Grube told the board that the money required for the project would be taken from a reserve account.
The aldermen voted unanimously to approve the request for funds to begin the project.
