HERMANN — Almost four years after she was arrested in the death of her live-in boyfriend, Christine Elizabeth Weber, who has been asking for a speedy trial, will get her day in court. Charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action, Weber’s trial is scheduled to begin July 15.

But before the trial begins, 20th Circuit Court Presiding Judge Craig Hellmann will conduct a hearing on Friday, June 28, to discuss with attorneys the results of Weber’s mental health examination by the Missouri Department of Mental Health at Fulton State Hospital. The psychological exam was ordered by the court during one of Weber’s more recent court appearances.

Accused of killing live-in boyfriend Alfonse Falco, Weber was arrested in December of 2020 and has been held in jail without bond ever since. She has filed motions for bond reduction and several months ago filed a motion for a speedy trial, noting her length of confinement.

At a hearing several weeks ago, Hellmann and attorneys for Weber and the state met in his chambers and reportedly settled on a trial date, but didn’t announce the date publicly before adjourning that day’s court proceeding. Shortly after that hearing, a trial date was listed on Missouri Case.net as being set for three days in September. But the most recent check of Case.net shows the trial to be scheduled for July 15, 16 and 17 in the Gasconade County courthouse.

Gasconade County Prosecuting Attorney Mary E. Weston is being assisted by members of the Missouri Attorney General’s Office  Assistant AGs Michael Schafer and Greg Goodwin.

Weber is being represented by Matthew Mueller of St. Louis, who is listed in court filings as a special public defender.

The mental exam status hearing on June 28 is set for 9 a.m. One hour later, attorneys in the case are scheduled to have a pre-trial conference. That conference is aimed at setting the ground rules for the upcoming trial.

Weber remains jailed. Her cash-only bond was set at $350,000.
