Spots on the podium.

Athletes with the Mid-America Acro and Tumbling Team (MAATT) out of Owensville have been seeking those over the past three months.

Pairs, trios, groups and individuals have won championships at the state, regional and national levels.

During the Missouri State Acro Championships held April 20-21 at Riverbend Middle School in Pacific, a total of 15 state championships were won by MAATT athletes.

Moraeah Arthur and Ariana Katsov claimed gold in the Senior Women’s Pair while the 12-18 Junior Elite Women’s Trio of Cailyn Hulsey, Clarice Krupp and Emilee Huebler also won a state championship.

Taylor Snodgrass, Karlee Wright and Aubree Southerland won gold in the Level 9 Women’s Group (16+) while Brooklyn Kramme and Penny Rogers each earned gold medals in the Level 7 Women’s Pair (12-13).

Staying in Level 7, the 11U Women’s Pair of Dennise Butler and Everly Jackson won a state title while the Level 7 14 and over Women’s Group of Brooke Tainter, Rylan Price and Ayla Eiler topped their respective division standings.

Winning a fourth state title in Level 7 was the 11 and Under Mixed Group of Arie Isom, Tynzlee Thomas, Zoe Hiatt and Skye Aslinger.

Claiming the first of four state titles for Level 6 MAATT teams were the Level 6 13 and up Women’s Pair of Ellie Gray and Addison Fritzemeyer.

Laina Rasmussen and Freya Grayson also teamed up to claim state gold in the Level 6 Women’s Pair 11-12 division.

Addison Leach and Ava Alferman won the Level 6 Women’s Pair 10 and Under division while the Level 6 Women’s Group (11-12) of Landry Sanders, Campbell Fisher and Brynlee Bastunas earned gold medals at the state level.

Rounding the list of MAATT state champion teams was the Level 5 9 and under Women’s Group of Clara Coppedge, Blaire Decker and Etta Jackson.

Three individuals also claimed state titles for MAATT in Pacific.

Huebler won the gold level blocks division while Aubree Southerland placed first in the silver level blocks to go along with Etta Jackson topped all six-year-olds in the bronze level blocks division.

Claiming silver in Pacific was the Level 7 Women’s Pair 16+ of Malorie Reasor and Henlie Adkison in addition to the Level 7 11U Women’s Pair of Kali Mayfield-Bayhylle and Clara Baxter.

Madi Thomas and Karlee Wright also placed second in the Level 6 Women’s Pair 13-and-up division.

Katsov claimed second place in Diamond Level Blocks while Aslinger was also second in bronze level blocks among eight year olds.

Caileigh Bastunas also earned a silver medal in bronze level blocks among eight year olds.

Fellow MAATT eight year olds also placing in bronze level blocks were Penny Rogers (3rd), Adkison (4th) and Grayson (6th).

Earning bronze medals in Pacific were the Level 6 Women’s Group (11-12) of Avery Rogers, Caileigh Bastunas and Tainter.

Everly Jackson (3rd) and Kramme (4th) also placed in silver level blocks.

Tynzlee Thomas posted a fifth-place finish in bronze level blocks among 10-year-olds.

MAATT placers in bronze level blocks among nine-year-olds were Zoe Hiatt (4th) and Ava Alferman (8th).

During the Region 4 Championship at Delta Woods Middle School in Lee’s Summit, Mo., from May 18-19, MAATT athletes brought home more gold, silver and bronze medals.

Arthur and Katsov added a regional title to their state crown as a Senior Women’s Pair while Hulsey, Krupp and Huebler also claimed regional gold as a 12-18 Junior Elite Women’s Trio.

Snodgrass, Wright and Southerland claimed regional gold as a 16+ Level 9 Women’s Group while Reasor and Adkison duplicated their Level 9 counterparts as a 16+ Level 7 Women’s Pair.

Kramme and Penny Rogers added regional gold to their state title as a Level 7 Women’s Pair (12-13) while Butler and Everly Jackson claimed 11U Level 7 Women’s Pair gold.

Mayfield-Bayhylle and Baxter also placed fourth behind Butler and Everly Jackson.

Tainter, Price and Eiler added a gold medal in Lee’s Summit to their state crown as a 14-and-over Level 7 Women’s Group.

Tynzlee Thomas, Isom, Hiatt and Aslinger won regional gold in the 11U Level 7 Mixed Group.

Gray and Fritzemeyer claimed gold at regionals as a 13-and-up Level 6 Women’s Pair while Thomas and Wright were right behind them in second place. Two Level 6 Women’s Pairs also added regional titles to their state championships.

Rasmussen and Grayson topped the Level 6 Women’s Pair (11-12) field while Ava Alferman and Leach won the 10U Level 6 Women’s Pair division. Two MAATT Level 6 Women’s Group (11-12) teams also posted top-three finishes at regionals. Caileigh Bastunas, Avery Rogers and Tainter took first place while Brynlee Bastunas, Sanders and Fisher also placed third for MAATT.

Huebler won the gold level blocks division while Everly Jackson claimed gold in the silver level blocks division.

Placing behind Everly Jackson were Kramme (3rd) and Southerland (4th). Hiatt took fourth in bronze level blocks among 10-year-olds while Aslinger (3rd), Henlie Alferman (4th) and Ava Alferman (5th) rounded out the top five in bronze level blocks among nine-year-olds. Penny Rogers won a regional title in the bronze level blocks division for eight-year-olds while Grayson also took fourth.

Etta Jackson topped the field in bronze level blocks among seven-year-olds while Caileigh Bastunas placed right behind Jackson in second. Competition from June 21-26 at the USA Gymnastics Championships inside the Minneapolis Convention Center in Minneapolis, MN yielded a pair of national champions.

Arthur and Katsov’s score of 29.080 in their combined Senior Women’s Pair routine earned them national gold while Everly Jackson and Butler won a national title among 11U Level 7 Women’s Pairs.

Katsov and Arthur also claimed gold in their dynamic routine while earning silver in their balance routine at nationals. Mayfield-Bayhylle and Baxter placed second behind Butler and Everly Jackson.

Tynzlee Thomas, Isom, Hiatt and Aslinger earned national silver in the 11U Level 7 Mixed Group.

Penny Rogers and Kramme placed fourth among 12-13 Level 7 Women’s Pairs. Snodgrass, Wright and Southerland placed 10th among 16+ Level 9 Women’s Groups while Tainter, Price and Eiler were fifth among teams in the Level 7 Women’s Group 14 and over.

Huebler claimed a silver medal in gold level blocks among those aged 13-14. Southerland was third in silver level blocks ages 10-11 while Everly Jackson was also 10th.

Arthur and Katsov were also selected to represent the USA in the upcoming World Championships in Guimares, Portugal in September.

They were also presented with the Glenn B. Sunby Award for outstanding artistry. Arthur was also named the Acro Sportswoman of the Year.

As a team, MAATT left state, regional and national competition with several team awards.

During state action, MAATT’s Level 7,9, 12-18 and Senior teams claimed first place while their Level 5 and 6 teams placed second.

At regionals in Lee’s Summit, MAATT’s Level 9 and 12-18 teams won first-place awards while their Level 7 Teams combined to place second and their Level 6 teams took third place. Also at regionals, Hulsey, Krupp and Huebler won the Athlete of the Year award for Region 4 while Amanda Butler was given the Unsung Hero award.

Following national competition in Minnesota, several MAATT teams were named to the Rising Star, Future Stars, International Development and Senior Elite Teams.

Rising Star Team selections from MAATT included Everly Jackson and Butler, Mayfield-Bayhylle and Baxter and Penny Rogers and Kramme. Named to the Future Stars Team were Wright, Snodgrass and Southerland. Hulsey, Krupp and Huebler were selected to the International Development Team while Arthur and Katsov were named to the Senior Elite Team.

In the World Cup series, Arthur and Katsov earned a silver medal at Maia, Portugal while placing sixth in Rzeszow, Portugal and seventh in Burgas, Bulgaria.
