Four years in Fulton.

That is what in front of 2024 Owensville High School graduate McKenna Edwards as she continues her academic and athletic pursuits as a member of the Westminster College (WC) Lady Blue Jay volleyball team.

Helping the Dutchgirl reach double digits in wins for the first time since their district championship season of 2020 which they finished 13-16-3, Edwards led the Dutchgirls during her senior season with a team-leading 502 digs and 46 aces.

Racking up double digits in digs during 25 of her 31 matches that she played in, Edwards recorded a career-high 33 digs against New Haven while also posting 30 digs against Rolla.

Among her team-high 46 aces, Edwards racked a career-high eight aces in early October action against Sullivan while also record five aces against Rolla in late September.

Dishing out 13 assists good for fifth on the team as a senior, Edwards had two assists in matches against Linn, Fatima and Union.

Adding three kills to her senior-year stat line, Edwards recorded a kill apiece in matches against Linn, North County and St. James.

Owensville wound up with a 10-19-2 record during Edwards’ senior year.

In Edwards’ junior season where the Dutchgirls went 6-20-4, she led the orange and black with 309 digs to go along with four aces, two kills and two assists.

Reaching double digits in dig during 19 of her 29 matches played in the fall of 2022, Edwards posted a season-high 25 digs against Steelville while also recording 22 digs in matches against New Haven and Cuba.

Accounting for her four aces as a junior, Edwards had one apiece in matches against Sullivan, New Haven, Steelville and Blair Oaks.

She also had one kill each in matches against Steelville and Blair Oaks.

Her two assists came in matches against Fatima and St. James.

In limited time as a sophomore during the fall of 2021, Edwards posted 18 digs with her best effort coming against New Haven with five digs.

She also had four digs in matches against Linn and Fatima.

A member of the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC), Edwards and her Lady Blue Jay teammates will face schools from Arkansas, Kentucky, Missouri and Illinois during SLIAC play.

“I really loved the campus when I visited there,” Edwards said.

Member schools along with Westminster in the SLIAC include Greenville University, Lyon College, Blackburn College, Eureka College, Fontbonne University, Mississippi University for Women, Principia College, Spalding University and Webster College.

Edwards will be majoring in Early Childhood Education while in Fulton.
