Rachel Delora Ruegge (nee Lipskoch), 92, passed away Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Mary Culver Home for Visually Impaired Women in Kirkwood.
She was born Oct. 22, 1931 to Herman and Lydia (Leimkuehler) Lipskoch at Mt. Sterling.
She was united in marriage to Erwin W. Ruegge, June 23, 1951, at Mt. Sterling. They then moved to St. Louis and later to Bethalto, Ill. as they celebrated over 50 years of marriage together.
She was preceded in death by parents, Herman and Lydia; husband, Erwin; siblings Walter, Harvey and Virgil Lipskoch, Emma Carey and Myrtle Miller; and grandson, Andrew Varner.
She is survived by daughters, Arlene Johnson and husband Charlie of Nixa and Janet Varner and husband David of Ballwin; grandchildren, Dustin (Alex) Pearson, James Varner, Juliana Varner and Emily (Josh) Mesnier; and sister, Ruth Stanfield, 94, of Maryland Heights. Our lives today are shaped and enriched by her love of Jesus and the values that she both taught and practiced.
A graveside service was held Sunday, July 14, at Owensville City Cemetery, with David Varner officiating. Family and friends were invited to join the family.
