Robert “Bob” Fricke, 85, of Hermann, passed away Saturday, July 13, 2024 at StoneBridge Senior Living, Hermann.
He was born March 23, 1939, to Norman Theodore and Leona Mary (Durrett) Fricke in St. Louis.
He was united in marriage to Joan Brown, Nov. 19, 1983.
Bob was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Hermann. He was a tool and die machinist and while living in Glendale, Calif., he was a partner with his brother Curtis in their company called J&J Engineering. Bob served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airbourne stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C., during the early 1960’s. His troop was called up and were on standby in their plane during the Cuban missile crisis, but was finally ordered to stand down.
He was preceded in death by parents, Norman and Leona; first wife, Judy; and step-daughter Cheryl Christensen and her son Daniel.
Bob is survived by wife, Joan; daughters, Julie (Cyril) Oblouk, adopted daughter, Ashley Lamke (Mike) of Hermann; seven grandchildren; step-daughters, Laura Splann and Dora Van Hounton; two step-grandchildren; and siblings, Curtis (Jo) Fricke of Granite Falls, Wash., and Norma (John) Stiltz of Las Vegas, Nev.
Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be no memorial services per Bob’s request.
