Steven John Kreis, 68, Owensville, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at his residence.
He was born Aug. 3, 1955, to John Henry Kreis and Arlene (Ruby) Blunt Kreis Hansen in Omaha, Neb.
He served his country with the U. S. Marines.
Steven was a loyal member of the Owensville Moose Lodge.
He worked for Lakeside Book Co. as a press roll tender for many years.
Steven enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage with family and friends and enjoyed teaching his kids to play chess. He played on many teams for pool and darts, joining tournaments in Owensville and throughout Missouri in his downtime. Steven enjoyed socializing with friends, grilling and watching his favorite television show, M.A.S.H. 4077.
He was preceded in death by father, John Henry Kreis; and stepfather, Rollin Hansen.
Steven is survived by mother, Arlene Hansen of Nebraska; stepmother, Bernice Kreis of Nebraska; daughter, Alex Kreis and friend Branden Carr of Eldon; son, Marshall Kreis of Bland; stepdaughter, Kolleen Crider and husband Eric of Owensville; brothers, Mike Kreis and wife Karen of Doniphan, Neb., Randy Kreis and wife Mary of Omaha Neb. and Brad Kreis and wife Lynda of Lander Wyo.; sisters, Paula Beebe and husband Alan of Omaha, Neb. and Pam McAlister and husband Neil of Ashland, Neb.; and other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Owensville for friends at a later date. A family service to spread his ashes will be held up in the mountains of Wyoming.
