Sit atop the point standings.

That was the goal throughout the summer months for motocross riders competing in the Fair Cross 2024 series highlighted by stops in West Plains, Belle, Jefferson City and most recently the Phelps County Fair held in Rolla last Thursday.

Posting third-place finishes in Belle and Jefferson City to go along with a second-place finish in Rolla, Belle’s Buck Strunk finished with 82 points to edge out Macen Schneider’s 75 points for the top spot in the 85cc Junior 7-11 year-old age division.

Placing second in Belle, Maddix Devine placed eighth with 22 points.

Between Oliver and Callea Douglas, three more points championships stayed in the Belle area.

Oliver Douglas posted second-place finishes in West Plains and Rolla to go with a third-place ride on his home track at Belle and a seventh-place finish in Jefferson City.

Garnering 100 points overall, Douglas held off Chason Satterfield who won both stops in Belle and Rolla in the 65cc Open Division.

Fellow Belle resident William Locklin took fifth in the 65cc open division with 22 points from his second-place finish in Belle.

Overcoming a 10th-place finish in Jefferson City, Callea Douglas added a second-place ride in Belle along with a pair of third-place finishes in West Plains and Rolla to top the 50cc 7-8 field with 93 points just ahead of Chase Loganbill’s second-place total of 89 points.

Douglas and Loganbill also had a close fight to the top of the points standings in the 50cc Open Division.

Overcoming a pair of victories by Loganbill in West Plains and Rolla, Douglas placed second in West Plains, third in Belle, 10th in Jefferson City and fourth in Rolla to finish with 88 points edging out Loganbill’s 86 points.

In the girls 15U 65-125cc, Belle’s Ellie Gray placed third with 47 points thanks to a second-place ride in Belle and a victory in Jefferson City. Gray also competed in the 85cc Senior 12-15 division placing eighth with 18 points from a fourth-place finish in racing action at the Cole County Fair in Jefferson City.

William Stroup used a second-place finish in Belle to record 22 points for an eighth-place finish in the 250 Beginner Division.
