The end of the world, again

For two decades Democrats, like Al Gore, have been scaring children and adults alike that global warming — now climate change — is going to destroy the world.

On Jan. 27, 2006, Gore, while promoting his famous film “An Inconvenient Truth,” predicted that if drastic measures were not taken in the next ten years to reduce our energy usage, there would be an Armageddon-type doomsday.

His doomsday clock ran out eight years ago.

Forget all that nonsense; now it appears the world has something worse to worry about — Donald Trump.

According to actor — and apparently a renowned psychic —  Robert De Niro, “Donald Trump wants to destroy not only the city (New York City) but the country, and eventually, he can destroy the world.”

De Niro made these comments during a press conference last Tuesday at the Manhattan courthouse where former President Trump’s criminal trial was held.

I don’t remember Trump destroying one city, let alone a state, during his first term as President. In fact, barring COVID-19, the country was in great shape during his term.

Since, if elected, Trump would only have four years as leader of the U.S., I assume Trump is a more significant threat than global warming. Maybe that is why Democrats pulled out all the stops to make sure he was convicted.

President Joe Biden has assured America that Trump’s prosecution was not politically motivated. Let’s examine the evidence.

First, the Democratic prosecutor in this case, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg — a Democrat — said he was going to go after Trump before he was sworn into office.

Second, the indictment from the Grand Jury came four months after Trump announced his intentions to run for President, making him the first former U.S. president to be charged with a crime. The crime stemmed from a payment to adult film actor Stormy Daniels before the 2016 election. That was eight years ago. That put the trial in the middle of the campaign season. Also, the Federal Election Commission declined to charge Trump in 2021 for violating election law.

Third, the Judge in this case, Juan M. Merchan, donated money to  Biden, Trump’s political opponent. In addition, his daughter, Loren Merchan, is the president of Authentic Campaigns — a progressive political consulting firm whose top clients include Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.). Her clients used the Trump indictment and trial to raise millions of dollars.

Still, Judge Merchan refused to recuse himself from the trial.

Finally, Matthew Colangelo, the number three official in the Biden Department of Justice — a premier legal post in America — left the Justice Department to help Bragg prosecute Trump. It’s probably just a coincidence.  I bet he couldn’t handle the pay and workload in Washington, D.C.

President Biden’s response was to praise our legal system and blast Trump and others protesting the conviction for “attacking the rule of law.”

This may be more evidence of Biden’s mental ability. Apparently, he completely forgot about nationwide protests by Democrats just two years ago when the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade. I don’t remember him standing up for the rule of law as Rep. Schiff called for ‘packing the court.’

If Democrats are worried about losing our democracy, they need to look in the mirror. It’s the radical left who are trying to get rid of America’s founding principles through a cultural revolution that has as its goal the elimination of capitalism and democracy.

Those who recognize this the most include survivors from China, Russia, and Cuba, like Xi Van Fleet. She grew up during Chairman Mao’s Cultural Revolution (1966-1976). Now, in America, her adopted country, she has a warning: “Most Americans do not know much about the Chinese cultural revolution and communism in general. That explains why so few have recognized that the root of today’s ‘woke revolution’ is Marxism followed by communism.”

If you want to look at those trying to tear down the rule of law and democracy, look at the anti-Israel protests on our college campuses.

Perhaps what scares De Niro — and other Democrats with Trump derangement syndrome — is that Trump is fighting against this revolution. What really scares them is the thought that Trump could win in November.
