Falling to Blair Oaks 2-0 last Monday and 4-2 last Wednesday at Crocker, Zach Bollmann’s Owensville Dutchgirl soccer team looked to end the March portion of their season with a win on the Dutchmen Field home turf with a win last Thursday against Dixon’s Lady Bulldogs.
Scoring four first-half goal before the midway point of the first 40 minutes, Owensville carried that momentum into the second half scoring four more goals including the game winner with 6:43 remaining in their 8-0 mercy-rule victory over Dixon.
Lily Reed scored twice in the first half while McKenzy Echols and Lily Barker each found the back of the net once during the first 40 minutes.
Joleen Braun also had a first-half assist.
Scoring second-half goals for Owensville were Brooke Jahnsen, Ashley Reed, McKenna Edwards and Barker.
Anya Binkhoelter had a second-half assist for the victorious Dutchgirls.
Liz Adams made three saves in goal to earn the shutout.
Lily Reed scored both goals against Crocker in the second half.
Beginning a stretch of three games in three days, Owensville hit the road into Callaway County to face Fulton’s Lady Hornets last night (Tuesday) before returning home for a pair of matches at Dutchmen Field today (Wednesday) against St. Francis Borgia and California tomorrow all starting at 5 p.m.
