No “speed limit,” the roads are fair game

Posted

Dear Editor,

Why are there no “Speed Limit signs” on Jefferson Street west of  10th Street? So, technically, anyone traveling Jefferson Street west of 10th Street and traveling at a speed of 60-80 mph is not breaking any laws as no “Speed Limit” is posted.

It also explains why no speeding tickets are ever issued on that stretch of Jefferson Street. No, speed limits are being broken. So, any child getting hit by a speeding car on that stretch of Jefferson Street is the child’s fault not the driver of the speeding vehicle.  Good to know.
