Stop the pandering

Posted

I grew up in a very conservative, pragmatic household, a home where functionality over form was the standard.  Politicians that promised the sky were not to be trusted and ‘keep an eye on your wallet’ couldn’t be stressed enough.

Enter the newly anointed Democrat POTUS ticket of Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz.  Rather than looking at methods to cut the inflation of the last 45 months, this pair of socialists are throwing more gas on the fire.  To them there’s no office in the land that can’t be won if you just apply enough government control or give enough stuff away.  The Party that tells you the Orange Man is the real danger to freedom requires schools to comply with their LGBT policies or lose their federal school lunch funding.  They also identify pro-life advocates as domestic terrorists for simply demonstrating against abortion (apparently someone praying a rosary on a sidewalk appears to be a Timothy McVeigh-styled bomber).  And parents that simply want a voice in their child’s life before doctors/teachers irreversibly impact the gender of their kid are the Administration’s enemy.

Even with $35 trillion in debt and out-of-control inflation, Harris now wants to offer first time homebuyers an assistance package of $25,000 and a $10,000 tax credit while expanding childcare credit even more. There are even provisions for homebuyers whose parents didn’t own a home.  (Can you connect the dots to taking care of DACA kids?).  Nonsensically, Harris/Walz’s latest gimmick is having the Federal Trade Commission and states attorneys general impose harsh penalties on companies for setting excessively high prices. No doubt our fair and impartial DOJ will help determine how “excessive profits” are yet to be defined.  These are the same ‘clown car drivers’ that are mandating Electric Vehicles (EVs) and farm equipment by 2030 and the same folks that got $7.5 billion in 2021 legislation to build 500,000 charging stations by 2030 and yet, by early 2024, not a single station had been placed online because nobody in our federal agencies can seem to work out how funds are to be divided between federal and state agencies.  Besides thieves and vandals are stealing the copper and building materials faster than they can be built.

All this gimmickry stems back to Biden-Harris initiatives that started this colossal ‘inflation snowball’ in the first place with the Inflation Reduction Act, the American Rescue Plan and Build Back Better Act.  Pandering to buy votes comes with a price, and like me, many Americans are getting really sick of paying for it.  My advice: close the border; “drill, Baby, drill”; back the police; put teeth in our military again; get government out of businesses’ way; leave our kids alone; and stop buying votes. You’re welcome.
