R-2 harriers claim medals at Belle, Rim Rock

Whether it was in Belle or Lawrence, Kan. Cross Country runners from Owensville Middle School (OMS) and Owensville High School (OHS) were going for medals and team hardware during their final meets of the month of September.

Over in Belle, OMS harriers were eying a top-20 finish to bring a medal back east on Highway 28.

During the middle school boys race, OMS’ Dutchmen placed fourth as a team with 145 points behind St. James (43), Rolla (52) and Vienna (125).

Robbie Rodriguez led OMS’ Dutchmen claiming the 20th and final medal with a time of 13:03.2.

Fellow Dutchmen helping them place fourth as a team were Grayson Lairmore (25th, 13:12.5), Max Altemeyer (26th, 13:33.7), Christopher Wehmeyer (41st, 14:04.8), Hunter Anderson (49th, 14:14.9), Liam Kramme (58th, 14:40.9), Ricky Ringeisen (59th, 14:42.2), Garrett Ringeisen (78th, 15:18.7), Dustin Manson (88th, 15:52.8), Michael Anderson (103rd, 16:33.3), Dylan Dietrich (110th, 17:02.3) and Braden Kemp (120th, 18:22.6).

OMS’ Dutchgirls also placed fourth as a team with 102 points behind Steelville (46), Rolla (65) and Hermann (80).

Earning her first medal, Kennedy Reams placed 15th in a time of 15:14.1.

Jolie Vandegriffe just missed joining Reams in the medals with a 21st-place time of 15:49.0.

Also helping OMS’ Dutchgirls place fourth as a team were Ellie Albright (33rd, 16:56.9), Gracie Rosselli (17:09.0), Ella Niederer (60th, 18:55.0), Addi Meyer (61st, 18:59.5), Allyson Smith (76th, 22:11.8) and Lilly Kahmke (79th, 31:39.8).

Over in Kansas at the Rim Rock Farm Classic, Ilene Limberg added to her already impressive medal haul with a third-place time of 19:45.80 in the varsity girls blue division race.

Other Dutchgirls helping OHS place 22nd out of 41 teams with 548 points were Hannah Gehlert (48th, 22:03.60), Abbie Gibson (93rd, 23:04.60), Eliana Lebish (250th, 26:41.20) and Arianna Baguio (291st, 28:36.70).

Morgen Schmidt (148th, 28:07.40) and Leola Hamann (153rd, 28:19.00) posted season bests for Owensville in the girls combined crimson and blue division JV race.

Sophomore Zach Holtmeyer led the varsity Dutchmen in the boys blue division with an 18th-place time of 17:11.50.

Other varsity Dutchmen figuring into their 20th-place team finish with 578 points out of 55 teams included Drake Dietrich (119th, 19:12.00), Ty Price (139th, 19:29.00), Cristopher Reyes (180th, 19:53.70), Kyle Bollman (182nd, 19:54.60) and Westin Kramme (20:18.30).

Tristan Strothkamp led Owensville’s JV Dutchmen in the combined crimson and blue division race with an 82nd-place time of 20:33.30.

JV Dutchmen also helping them place 21st as a team with 579 points were Bryce Kramme (117th, 21:23.20), Xavier Bayless (123rd, 21:37.70), Daimeyn Rogers (207th, 24:22.60) and Jayden Stewart (245th, 41:57.30).

OMS Cross Country ran last night (Tuesday) at St. James and their OHS counterparts will return to action on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at the Hermann Invitational to be held at Loutre Shore Country Club.
