Roger Lynn Yoakum, 61, of Dixon, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024, in the University Hospital, Columbia.
He was born Sept. 10, 1962, to William Roger and Betty Joann (Dressendofer) Yoakum at Rolla.
He was united in marriage to Susan Gail Gerschefske, July 19, 1986, at St. Charles.
Roger was a member of the Santee Community Church near Dixon where he served as the former president of the church board. He was the longtime owner and operator of Yoakum Furs and Roots.
He was preceded in death by parents, William Roger and Betty; and grandparents, William “Willie” and Leatha Yoakum and Ernest and Inez Dressendofer.
Roger is survived by wife, Susan; son, Ryan Yoakum; daughter, Lauren Williams and husband Tim; one grandson and another grandchild expected in Oct.; brothers, Stanley Yoakum and Matthew Yoakum; and sister-in-law, Debi Gravemann and husband, Ron.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 21, in the Santee Community Church, Dixon. Interment was in the Hughes Cemetery, near Dixon.
Memorials suggested to the Hughes Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
